Cheapest Way To Ship A Car

Everyone is always looking for a great deal. It is how society is. When it comes to cheap car shipping, it might not always be the best option. You should do your research first to ensure you’re working with a reliable company and not a broker who is going to take your money and not move your vehicle.

Best Research Tactics

  1. Look up the company you’re possibly looking to work with the US Department of Transportation and make sure they have the proper authority to transport vehicles or be a broker to transport vehicles.
  2. Look up reviews. There are a few great websites to look up reviews for auto transport companies such as: Google, Facebook, Yelp, Transport Reviews, Trustpilot, & Shopper Approved. Most companies won’t have profiles on all of these sites, but having profiles and a good amount of reviews on 2–3 of these sites is promising.
  3. I also explain to customers to call the business 2–3 different times and ask questions. It is not the questions or answers that are important. It is seeing if the company actually answers their phones. Surprisingly 1 out of every 4 companies don’t answer inbound calls. Usually call them in the morning, mid-afternoon and again after “normal” business hours. The reason to call after normal business hours is to see if they will help you after hours if something comes up. What happens if your vehicle is delivered damaged, but you can’t reach the company or a supervisor to help handle the sitation.

Here is the meat and potatoes of the article. 99.9% of the time open car shipping is the most affordable way to ship your vehicle. Over 95% of vehicles transported are using open car shipping services. Open Car Shipping is when you see there are vehicles being transported that are exposed to the elements of Mother Nature. You have seen these transporters on the road plenty of times.

On top of using open car shipping; being close to a major city is also a huge factor when dealing with price. Every minute that you are “out of the way” for a transporter they charge you on a per mile basis. If you’re within a 50 mile radius of a major city you’ll have a best pricing. If the vehicle is outside of that 50 mile radius the price does start to increase depending on the miles and time it would take for a hauler to pick up and get back on track.

When talking about actual price. The cheapest cost to ship a car in in our current market is about $.40 per mile and can reach up to $1.00 per mile depending on the route and the size of the vehicle. Obviously, a regular sedan or coupe will be the cheapest and the price increases as the vehicle grows in size.

I hope this helps customer best find the cheapest way to ship a car. If you have anymore question feel free to reach out to Car Shipping Carriers at (866)744–2540 or visit our website at https://carshippingcarriers.com.
